Dear Friends of Eyecare to the Needy,
We are sitting here once again in the Atlanta international terminal awaiting our flight to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. We are excited to have Mrs. Cindy Sparks and Mrs. Catherine Trotter accompany us from Brookstone School this trip as they will be in meetings with a school in Bulawayo to establish a sister relationship between the schools. They will also have the opportunity to participate with us in a rural eye camp our first week before we take them to see one of the seven wonders in the world, Victoria Falls.
As many of you are aware, the 20-foot container arrived at Mater Dei Hospital on August 9 of last year, the day we left Bulawayo. We will be busy the first week organizing everything from that container.
We remain very grateful to Mr. Brendan Mitchell who lives in Bulawayo and took a team of men and unloaded the container after we departed Bulawayo.
We ask that you once again be praying for us around noon on Sunday as we pass through customs, that they will show favor with our 8 bags. We are blessed that Mater Dei Hospital has handled arranging patients for Steve and through that we know that many will have the opportunity to have their cataracts removed for which we are grateful.
We hope to have better internet this time around thus allowing us the opportunity to post pictures and to keep you updated on our work.
Blessings,
Steve and Jane
