His Hands and Feet

Dear Friends and Supporters, We arrived back in the US after another long, 16 hour flight from Johannesburg to Atlanta on Monday, March 2nd, and are finally recovering from the jet lag that always hits us as we adjust to a 7 hour time change. As we look back on our work and ministry in Zimbabwe over the last month, we are grateful to God for His provision and protection upon us. We saw a […]

Steady Provision

Dear Friends and Supporters, Well, since our last communication we were able to complete a very intense and strenuous eye camp here in Bulawayo at the Richard Morris Eye Hospital. Our team was able to complete a total of 246 eye operations, and we also saw almost 600 patients during the 5 day eye camp. We had very few minor complications, and are very grateful that so many of the patients had a good outcome […]

Keeping The Course

Dear Friends and Supporters, Well, we’ve been in Zimbabwe now for a little over a week, and it seems like at least twice as long. When we arrived on February 3rd, Steve became very ill with what was probably a case of influenza (a present, probably from someone on the flight over). He was almost bedridden for 4 days. Finally, several days ago, he started to feel better (the day before our intensive surgical eye […]

Kingdom Service

Dear Friends and Supporters, We are on our way to the airport for a 16 hour flight to Johannesburg to once again give our gifts and talents to the people of Zimbabwe. We will stay overnight in Johannesburg, then fly an hour and a half north to Zimbabwe on Tuesday morning. This particular term of service will be focused on a surgical eye camp that we have planned over several months. The Islamic association of […]

In Preparation

Dear Friends and Supporters, It’s that time again when we start to gather supplies and begin to pack for our next trip to Zimbabwe and the work that is always ready for us. We will be leaving on February 2nd and will return on March 2nd, spending a month in work and service in and around Bulawayo and the southern part of Zimbabwe. Last year, the Islamic Association of Zimbabwe brought in a team of doctors […]

Thankful Return

Dear Friends and Supporters, We have now returned back to the US, and we want to thank you for praying for us through our time in Zimbabwe. Looking back on the whole trip, we are very thankful to have had so many opportunities to use our skills and talents to help many underserved and needy people in the southern part of Zimbabwe. We saw a total of 806 patients, dispensed 589 pairs of glasses, mentored […]

Choosing Love

Dear Friends, Thank you for remembering us in your thoughts and your prayers since we last wrote to you. These last 2 weeks have been filled again with days of service and ministry, but we have also had the privilege of hosting Rebekah, our daughter, Robby, her husband, and our grandson Lewis. They flew over to spend time with us and to help serve. With the 3 additional family members, and with assistance from Rebekah’s […]

His Work

Dear Friends, We have now completed a little more than half of our time in ministry here in Zimbabwe, and are writing this message to you by candle light. Yes, the electricity here on most days only comes on between about 11 PM and 4 AM. But, we are coping well and consider this a minor inconvenience. We have enjoyed a number of ‘romantic’ candlelight dinners with the power outages, so there are advantages to […]
