Fresh Perspective

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We recently departed the states and arrived in Zimbabwe for another chapter of our ministry in Southern Africa. As always, we are excited to continue to mentor, teach and empower our local colleagues, and also give of the talents and gifts that God has given us to bring physical and spiritual eyesight to many in need.

Some of you know that we are also embarking on a new project to equip and train doctors in a very specialized field of eye care, diseases of the retina. We want to set up a center for the population in the southern part of Zimbabwe to have access to this care which would otherwise be impossible. Our upcoming visit will allow us to explore the logistics of this center and prepare for the arrival of surgical equipment. We are asking the Lord to provide resources for its purchase and shipment.

The cataract teaching project that we embarked on 7-8 years ago has borne fruit – it is now a self-sustaining entity with continued teaching, mentoring, and training of local doctors at the Richard Morris Eye Hospital in Bulawayo. We hope that we will be able to duplicate this with the proposed retina project.

Thank you for continuing to remember us in thought and prayer that God will empower and use us as we labor and minister in a very needy part of our world.

Sincerely,

Steve and Jane Beaty
