Back to Zimbabwe

Dear Friends and Supporters;

We have just arrived in Zimbabwe; those flights and time differences have not become any easier. These first two nights found us awake at 1:30 am, and only dozing off at around 5 am, to be awakened by the alarm clock at 6 am.

Steve and Pastor Rob Heath travelled together to Bulawayo. The last flight that they took to Bulawayo was delayed, but otherwise all bags arrived, and immigration and customs formalities were negotiated with no confrontations or difficulties.

Rob will begin teaching at a local Bible college, The Institute of Bible Teaching, tomorrow. Thirty five students and some staff members will be in attendance, and we expect a very rewarding time of teaching and interaction. We made the fairly long drive out to the Bible college today to meet the director. The college is located in a fast-growing area of the city with seventy eight thousand people within a two mile radius, so the need, and the potential to impact this community is great.

As Pastor Rob ministers and teaches tomorrow, Steve will be picking up our retina surgeon, Dr. Darrell Baskin, at the airport. Dr. Baskin will have flown all the way from Alaska to teach the medical and surgical management of retinal diseases to Dr. Gilbert Moyo. We are so very grateful to him for making this sacrifice to come all the way around the world to help us in our training program.

Thank you for your prayers. We are thankful for safe travels and we know that the are great things awaiting us as we work and minister to the people here.

Blessings from the Lord to you.

Steve and Jane Beaty
