Dear friends of Eyecare;
Our two week mission trip back to Bulawayo has just ended, and we leave with joy and rejoicing in our hearts.
Pastor Rob preached and lectured a total of nine times in the nine days that he accompanied us. Three of those were six hour sessions at the Institute of Biblical Teaching where his talks made a huge impact on the students.
Dr. Darrell Baskin, the retina surgeon from Alaska, performed a total of twenty complex operations. In some of them, he allowed Dr. Gilbert Moyo to perform parts of procedures as he proctored and assisted Dr. Moyo.
Steve saw patients over several days, and he oversaw the administrative needs of the team. So, we thank God for His grace, protection and provision for the many lives were changed, both physically and spiritually.
Jane was busy caring for a week, 4 of our grandchildren in Marietta, while our daughter, Rachel and husband Thomas, celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in Italy. She traveled back to Birmingham for one day to host a baby shower for a dear friend, whose daughter is a missionary in Italy, and they are expecting their first baby in July. She then traveled to Tennessee for three days to assist her sisters in the process of sorting items in her mom’s home, and then traveled back to Birmingham for one night before driving to Atlanta to collect myself on Saturday. We are happy to be back together.
We now anticipate and look forward to our return in three weeks to continue the work and ministry.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
Steve and Jane Beaty
